Tell Me One Good Thing He’s Done: Former Pakistani Pacer Slams PCB Chief Ramiz Raja

The former Pakistani bowler claimed he had high expectations when Ramiz Raja was named PCB chairman last year, but the issues haven’t been fixed yet.

Tanvir Ahmed, a former bowler, has criticized Ramiz Raja, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), saying that the 59-year-old has done nothing to further the game in his country beyond what his ancestors did. Pakistan is currently placed fifth, third, and third in the ICC Test, ODI, and T20I rankings, respectively. Last year, the Babar Azam-led team made it all the way to the T20 World Cup quarterfinals in the UAE before falling to Australia. Tanvir Ahmed thinks that PCB’s squad selection and hiring procedures are still not merit-based.

“About eight to nine months ago, Ramiz Raja arrived (and took charge of the PCB). Tell me one successful thing the chairman has done thus far. The PCB continues to lack a merit-based recruiting and team selection process.” Tanvir Ahmed stated in a video that was uploaded to his YouTube channel.

Ramiz Raja, 43, said he had high expectations when he was named PCB chairman last year, but the issues haven’t been rectified yet.

“When Ramiz Raja was chosen as the PCB chairman, I had thought that would change, but so far, nothing has. But he also enjoys his work and spends his time as his forebears did “He added.

Despite concerns that the ruling administration would fire him, Ramiz Raja recently declared that he intended to keep his position as chairman of the PCB.

“After two months, speculation is not enough to sustain us. If something had to happen by this point, it would have. If you don’t give continuity a chance, nothing will change for Pakistan’s cricket team.” in the words of Ramiz Raja.
