Fans will always remember Dhoni for his ability to keep his team in tight games and for never showing signs of fatigue. Thus, the wicketkeeper scored his first century against Pakistan in a 2005 international game played at Visakhapatnam. Dhoni participated in his first ODI game against Bangladesh in 2004. With only 19 runs scored throughout the course of the three-match series, he did not play well.
So dhoni was perceived as a young marauder and was almost instantly likened to Australia’s wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist. He had long hair when he initially played for India.
Dhoni’s highest score in 350 ODIs was 183 against Sri Lanka. He also still holds the distinction of being the only captain to have won every significant ICC trophy, giving him the moniker “Captain Cool.” The wicketkeeper-batter declared his retirement from international competition in August 2020.
When Dhoni was playing in the IPL and other international events, he was known for maintaining his cool under pressure and providing excellent field leadership. Over the years, he has made a name for himself as one of the top wicketkeepers in the world.
In December 2014, he has declared his retirement from Tests. So he finished his Test career after taking part in 90 matches and accumulating 4,876 runs at an average of 38.09. Virat Kohli was then given the reins as captain in the white-ball forms in 2017.
