Deepak Hooda is grateful for “Childhood Friend” Sanju Samson after their record-making partnership in India vs. Ireland.
In the second T20I encounter against Ireland, Deepak Hooda and Sanju Samson guided India to their highest-ever T20I partnership.
A brilliant 104-run performance by Deepak Hooda helped India defeat Ireland by just four runs in the second game, claiming the two-match T20I series 2-0. The visitors scored 225 runs as a result of Hooda and Sanju Samson’s 176-run partnership. At the post-game awards ceremony, Hooda, who was named Player of the Match and the Series, expressed his extreme joy at witnessing his childhood friend Sanju prevail.
“Since we were young children, I’ve known Sanju, and I’m happy for him as well. I had a great time in Ireland, which is wonderful. Despite playing outside of India, I never felt alone due of the amazing local support. The wicket has indeed changed. Thank you to everyone who helped, “Hooda said.
The right-hander smashed 104 off only 57 deliveries to become just the fourth Indian to achieve a century in a T20 International. His knock’s ornamentation included nine fours and six hits over the fence.
“I was trying to provide my best effort here in an effort to build on my great IPL performance. So I therefore like to play aggressively. I have the opportunity to bat up the order and attempt to adapt my playing style, he added.
Speaking of the game, outstanding efforts by the captain Andrew Balbirnie (60), Paul Stirling (40), and Harry Tector (39), among others, were for naught as India overcame Ireland to win the last over by four runs.
India now leads the series 2-0. However, Ireland will look back on the match with a lot of positives since they concerned India with their batting and played to the very last ball.
