Williamson, the captain of the SRH SunRisers Hyderabad, has left his bio-bubble to return to New Zealand to give birth to his child, according to the franchise.
“Our captain, Kane Williamson, is returning to New Zealand to greet the newest member of his family. Kane Williamson and his wife are expecting their first child, and everyone at the #Riser camp wishes them all the best!” In a tweet, SRH stated. The announcement came a day after Williamson led SRH to a 3-run victory over Mumbai Indians, keeping their slim playoff hopes alive.

The New Zealand skipper has played 13 matches for SRH this season after being retained by the team, but has failed to deliver with the bat, earning only 216 runs at a strike rate of 93.51.
SRH are currently positioned 8th in the IPL 2022 points standings with 12 points from 13 games.
They will meet Punjab Kings in their final league stage match on Sunday, May 22.
