India cricketer Manoj Tiwary scored a century for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy. On Friday, Bengaluru hosted a quarter-final match versus Jharkhand. In 152 balls, Tiwary, who is also the West Bengal Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, hit 14 boundaries and one six to reach triple figures. When Tiwary stepped out to bat on Day 5, Bengal were 129 for four in their second innings. He and Abhishek Porel then put up 72 runs for the fifth wicket before being dismissed for 34 by Shahbaz Nadeem.
At the time of writing, Bengal was 297 for six, with Shahbaz Ahmed on 38.

After being assigned to bat first, Bengal had set a massive first-innings total of 773 for seven declared.
Sudip Kumar Gharami and Anustup Majumdar have each scored a century, while seven other hitters, including Tiwari, have each scored fifty.
Bengal got off to a flying start with a 132-run partnership between Abhishek Raman (61) and skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran (65) for the opening wicket.
The first hitter to depart was Easwaran, who was bowled by Sushant Mishra.
Bengal, on the other hand, continued to dominate, thanks to Raman’s 243-run partnership with Majumdar, who was removed for 117 by Anukul Roy.
Jharkhand’s troubles were compounded by Gharami’s 186.
After his departure, Tiwary, Abhishek Porel, Shahbaz Ahmed, Sayan Mondal, and Akash Deep all hit half-centuries, driving Bengal to a massive total.
Jharkhand was led by Mishra, who took three wickets, and Nadeem, who took two.
In response, Jharkhand was bowled out for 298 runs, with Virat Singh top-scoring with an unbroken 113-run effort.
