South Africa’s batter leaves the ball; costly error in judgment
During South Africa’s scrimmage against the England Lions, Khaya Zondo was kicked out for attempting to leave a delivery outside the off-stump.
So, in preparation for their three-game Test series against England, which begins on August 17, South Africa is now playing a warm-up game against the England Lions. Zondo led South Africa with 86 points overall. Rassie van der Dussen played well and had a final score of 75.
Kyle Verreyne, 62, and Marco Jansen, 56, later gave South Africa a boost by helping them score a total of 433 points.
After taking five wickets, Craig Overton finished with a final score of 5/74.
At the end of the day, the England Lions had a 279/3 score. When Duanne Olivier called him out, Dan Lawrence was just 97 runs short of a century.
On 64, Harry Brook was invincible.
The three Test matches between South Africa and England will therefore have a significant impact on the World Test Championship standings. South Africa now holds the top spot, with England being in ninth place.
